H2scan senior management includes the following members. Together they oversee a team with advanced degrees in technology-related disciplines, hydrogen sensor technical expertise, extensive hands-on development experience, and access to key resources such as Sandia National Laboratories.
Dave brings a broad range of strategic, operational, sales and technology development experience to H2scan. He joined H2scan as the Chief Operating Officer, and previously he worked for Altran, a global engineering services company, where he held roles as COO of North America, Senior VP of Corporate Development, and as General Manager running product development business units serving the industrial, energy, medical, aerospace and automotive industries.
Prior to Altran he held various executive, sales and development roles at both large companies and startups. As the COO of a startup, he ran operations, built its global sales organization and was responsible for technology licensing and strategic partnerships. He also developed significant experience in the sensor market developing MEMS and high-performance inertial sensors for aerospace and industrial applications.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware where he is a distinguished alumnus.
André Marais joined H2scan team as Executive Vice President of Sales. André is an accomplished B2B sales and commercial operations leader with broad functional experience, including managing and vice president roles at Eskom, Global Engineering Solutions, Symmetricom, ABB, AMETEK, and Qualitrol.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Diploma in Technology Management from Eskom College.
Joe Rusin joins the H2scan team as Vice President, Transformer System Sales. Joe brings over 25 years of sales and utility experience including managing and vice president roles in global high-tech companies serving the online condition monitoring, capacity optimization, protection & control, SCADA, and process control spaces.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.
Michael has over 35 years of senior executive experience in many different industries including industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas production and operations, oil & gas equipment and service, alternative energy, and high technology. He’s responsible for sales, business development, marketing, and corporate and business strategies.
John joined H2scan in 2023 as Vice President of Engineering. With over 20 years of experience, John is an accomplished engineering professional with success in developing and leading multi-disciplined engineering project teams. John has an insatiable passion for customer experience, product development and industrial design.
Prior to H2scan, John was Director of Product Engineering and Manufacturing at the Kromek Group and Director of Engineering at MSA – The Safety Company / General Monitors. John earned his BSME and MSIE at the University of Pittsburgh and his MBA at Duquesne University.
Rani Mouchamel is the Director of Production at H2scan. Rani is an experienced production leader with a passion for driving innovation and excellence in production. His expertise encompasses a spectrum of skills including Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, and Lean Six Sigma.
Prior to his tenure at H2scan, Rani served in various operation roles at Dolby Laboratories and Doremi Laboratories, where he honed his skills for assembling the right teams and tackling critical challenges to optimize processes and maximize efficiency. He holds a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Cal State Northridge, and holds the Project Management (PMP)® certification.
Jeff Donato is the Sales Director-Safety Products at H2scan. Jeff Donato has over 28 years of sales and management experience in the industrial battery industry, representing safety and compliance products in the datacenter, utility, and telecommunications applications. Jeff is an active member of the IEEE Power & Energy Society and is the current chair of working group 1578 in the Energy Storage and Stationary Battery Committee (ESSB). Jeff is also a member of several other IEEE working groups including alternative energy storage technologies and the nuclear working group. He has presented standby power system Environmental Health & Safety training to engineering, architect and OEM manufacturing firms and delivered solutions training to end users and specifying engineers.
Supporting the H2scan management team is an active and seasoned group of cross-functional experts from various industries. From investors and lawyers to professors at top technical institutes, the Company has surrounded itself with a strong Board that complements the skills of the current management team.
Tim Summers is the Managing Partner of L1 New Energy. Prior to joining LetterOne, Tim has over 30 years of experience including multiple Chair, Board and Executive roles in manufacturing, engineering services and the energy sector in a variety of public and privately-owned businesses. He has lived and worked in South America, the Middle East and Russia, as well as in continental Europe.
Tim is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of both the Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. He has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester.
Michael is an accomplished CEO and Chairman with a highly successful career growing, restructuring, and optimizing business strategy and operations in the corporate world. Since 1998, Allman has held a number of leadership positions with Sempra Energy, a Fortune 300 energy services holding company in San Diego, CA.
In his most recent position as Chairman, President and CEO of Southern California Gas Company, the largest natural gas distribution company in the United States, he achieved record profits that exceeded targets each year and drove the company to a #1 ranking in customer service.
John is a growth capital investor, investing in high-growth private companies in the energy sector with a specific focus on operational and digital technology. He is a founding member of Energy Growth Momentum and holds several non-executive roles in operating companies. Prior to EGM, John worked at Piper Sandler (Simmons), Lime Rock Partners and First Reserve.
He holds a MA Joint Honors in Economics and International Relations and a Corporate Finance Qualification from ICAEW and CISI. He has previously served on the boards of UTEC International; Grupa Duon S.A; and, Sensient Incorporated, all of whom successfully scaled and were then acquired by large corporates.
Ken is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. He was the founder of JOBTRAK, one of the first job boards on the Internet (acquired by Monster.com). Subsequently, he founded Goodsearch, a mission-driven search engine that has donated more than $13 million to nonprofits nationwide, and Goodpods, a fast-growing podcast discovery platform.
Ken holds a BA from Stanford University and has been an advisor to and/or investor in numerous early-stage technology companies including StubHub, MindBody, Cognition, etc.
Ross is a Chartered Accountant with more than 25 years’ experience with the majority of that dedicated to the energy and power industries. He has worked in M&A and with Private Equity since 2008 as an advisor, private equity growth capital investor and a CFO of acquisitive PE-backed businesses. Ross works for Energy Growth Momentum as the COO/ CFO managing both the internal business and also working closely with the portfolio companies. Prior to EGM, Ross worked at Piper Sandler (previously Simmons & Company), Simmons Private Equity (including portfolio company Seanamic) and Duncan & Todd.
As well as being a CA with ICAS, Ross holds an MA Joint Honours in Accountancy – Management Studies and the CFA UK Level 4 Certificate in Investment Management.
