Energy Transition Update

• Is the transformer shortage real? Surprisingly, one broker claims that there is no shortage; just inflexible procurement. Other experts say long lead times will continue despite the buildup in manufacturing capacity. Whoever is right, monitoring dissolved hydrogen gas in aging fleets is proven to minimize the need to order new transformers.
• Hydrogen forklifts get a lift. According to Business Research Insights, the global hydrogen fuel cell forklift market is projected to grow at a whopping 35% CAGR, rising from $1.25 billion in 2026 to $18 billion by 2035. Reliable hydrogen sensors at fueling stations will be an enabling technology.
• Renewables are not dead. Despite a changing policy and economic environment, 90% of the projects queued up for grid connection in the U.S. today are renewable. Co-located solar/BESS installations will help stabilize the grid, but companies must hurry to secure components before tax credits run out. Remember to monitor hydrogen gas around batteries.
