Patented sensor technology

H2scan’s patented solid-state hydrogen sensing combines more than 15 years of R&D with over a decade of field verification. A proprietary coating lets the sensor run continuously in harsh, contaminated environments and detect hydrogen against virtually any background gas — without false readings or expensive support equipment. The core technology is protected by 40+ patents worldwide, alongside trade secrets covering sensor materials, coatings and production.

Lowest total cost of ownership

Self-calibrating sensors with no consumables keep the lifetime cost down across large deployments.

Simple integration and installation

4–20mA, Modbus, DNP3 and RS485 outputs drop into SCADA, BMS and DCS, often without an outage.

Low maintenance and longer calibration intervals

Patented self-calibration removes routine recalibration, so monitoring does not add a maintenance burden.

Tolerant to harsh contaminants

A proprietary coating holds accuracy against background gases, heat and corrosive atmospheres where other sensors drift.

Expertise and support across every situation and every industry.

Whatever you need to measure, H2scan helps you choose the right sensor, integrate it and act on the data.

Frequent product questions

All FAQs & Knowledge Base

A. H2scan makes hydrogen safety monitors (HY-ALERTA, HY-GUARD), process analyzers (HY-OPTIMA), transformer solutions (GRIDSCAN, HY-VAULT), displays (HYVIEW) and OEM sensor assemblies — all built on the same solid-state hydrogen sensing core.

A. H2scan’s sensing element responds to hydrogen alone through a proprietary coating, with low cross-sensitivity to other gases. That gives a trustworthy reading against almost any background gas, with no false alarms and no consumables.

A. A safety monitor watches an area for hydrogen leaks — battery rooms, plant areas — for code compliance and safety. A process analyzer measures hydrogen concentration inside a process stream, such as an electrolyzer, fuel cell or refining process, for performance and control.

A. No periodic calibration. H2scan sensors are self-calibrating with no consumables, and the transformer sensing element carries a 10-year warranty, so they do not add a maintenance burden.

A. Outputs include 4–20mA, Modbus, DNP3 and RS485, feeding SCADA, BMS, DCS, ADMS and the H2cloud / Fleet Advisor platform, so hydrogen data reaches the systems your teams already use.

A. Yes. H2scan’s sensing is available as an OEM assembly, from a hydrogen sensor sub-assembly to a full product assembly, so manufacturers can build hydrogen detection into their own equipment.

A. Start from the job: area safety, process measurement or transformer DGA. The Product Selector narrows it by application and need, or an H2scan expert can recommend the right model.
