H2scan’s BRO-1 Battery Monitoring Relay Module is engineered to convert Modbus signals from up to four HY-ALERTA area-monitoring sensors into discrete 1% and 2% hydrogen detection alarms for integration into ventilation, fire-safety and building management systems. All relay contacts have a visual status indicator, allowing all the hydrogen detection alerts for an area to be assessed in a glance.
In addition to hydrogen detection, the BRO-1 detects and annunciates (visually and through potential free contacts) a compromised hydrogen sensor, providing definitive sensor condition reporting. The compact device maintains the exceptional reliability of H2scan’s solid-state hydrogen sensing technology while providing the critical alarm thresholds required by international safety standards and regulations.
The module’s simplified design and plug-and-play functionality enable rapid deployment using existing infrastructure, delivering immediate value.
The BRO-1 is particularly valuable in applications requiring safety compliance and system integration, such as battery energy storage systems (BESS), data center (and other) UPS installations, telecom central offices, utility substation battery rooms and forklift battery charging and hydrogen refueling stations. The module’s maintenance-free design matches the 20-year design life of the HY-ALERTA product family, providing long-term value and peace of mind for critical safety applications.
